Mokoroa taniwha arrives!
Our Mokoroa Taniwha has arrived! The wonderful Ms Daly has done an awesome job designing it for us. The Mokoroa Taniwha lived deep in the Waitakere creeks. He was known for having a fierce jaw, a powerful tail and a massive appetite! Kaiwhare's taniwha will be hung up soon too - so watch this space!
Welcome Mr Anderson!
We have new face in Mokoroa. Mr Anderson is a diploma student from Massey University. He will be with us until Week 8. Hope you enjoy your time with us and we look forward to doing some fun learning with you!

ReplyDeleteI think that Students should grade their class teachers because teachers give us students grades on our Reading, Maths and Writing. We should be able to give them a grade because we get to tell them what they need to work on. The teachers should be graded on what they are teaching us and how they are explaining the things that we are given to do.
If Students were to grade Teachers in our school, I think that students would put their teachers grades on a Google Doc. The students would also get to interview the teachers, like how they do when they tell us about our work. Students could also tell their teacher if they are doing something wrong and help them out.

I think that is a good thing because then teachers can learn very tricky maths so the teachers could grade on maths.The students would not tell what will be the answer😂😂.
ReplyDeleteAnd I am going to tell the reason why did I choose maths, I chose maths because it is sort of hard but when the teachers come to school then the students can ask them that did you learn your maths at home? Because we will be having a test today so if you get it wrong then you will have to stay in at lunch time of for 2 weeks!!!!😄.

DeleteI will grade the teachers on Maths because the teachers give the students hard things and If I could grade them I will give them HARD maths and they will NOT know the answer😉
ReplyDeleteNow I will tell you why I am doing maths. It is because when we don't pass they put it on the profile so our parents will be really disappointed in us, so when they do a maths test the teachers have to practice or if not the will have to clean the TOILET!!😜

DeleteI don't think students can grade their teachers. I think that only teachers can grade their students. I'm not quite sure that students can be permitted to talk about their teachers. I don't want to talk about teachers.

ReplyDeleteBecause they are wonderful and helpful for the students. They teach us to do math and reading and that's why I like my teacher so I'm going to give them 10/10😊

ReplyDeleteI think we could because in our reports they tell us how we are doing in class. So we can write a report on how they teach us. Also how they help us understand what we are going to do. Maybe we could grade them on how much coffee they drink each day because of us. We don't really have to grade them on other things because they're already smart because they teach us things that we don't know. So they know a lot of things.
ReplyDeleteIf we give them a report they can look at it and if it says not above they could work on it. We can tell them our opinion. Also how they teach us and maybe they could make learning more exciting then it is right know. They might even make us actually listen to them more then just talking to our friends on the mat. So I think we should grade them.
Hi there my name is Maryam and I think this is a great idea and that the school would be fine with it. We don't only get to grade our own teachers, we can also do the deputy principal and the principal and all the other staff.
ReplyDeleteThe other reason is if the teachers are going to grade us in our study then we can grade them, if they are good teachers or if they are explaining things the correct way.

ReplyDeleteI would learn about you and how you became a good teacher. I think it is't good to grade teacher because if the teachers grade we learn more and be smarter.
ReplyDeleteStudents should not grade teachers because teachers know more than the students. In my school kids will be respectful,kids will be kind and greet new kids and give them a tour around the school.
It will be good if we could grade the teacher because it will be fair. We could grade them on how their teaching is and how we will like them to do some subject like fitness or maths. We could ask them if they have done their homework because we have a test today and if you have not brought your homework book to school you will have to stay in for some time. And if they have not done good art they will have to stay in. And we could be like if you take to much time and you have not done enough you will stay in and if you still have not done enough you will miss out on some cool things like free time outside. Our school will be more fun and I will want to come to school more.
ReplyDeleteI think you can't grade teachers. Because they are older than you. So they know more than you, and if you make them angry they'll give you warning. If you get three warnings you'll get sent to another class for either five minutes or 10 minutes or twenty minutes. Or you'll get sent to the principal's office and do your work. Another reason why is because they are more responsible and more careful and they do more work and they also teach.
ReplyDeleteNo, I think it is a waste of learning time and I do not think it matters, it will not change anything in the school and there is no point grading teachers because they are smarter than you. They do not need to be tested and if you have more important things to do like finishing an art to do you should do that instead.

ReplyDeleteHi Mrs Jones 1.I think that teachers should be graded on how fun they make the lessons because then the more the children have fun the more they will be interested in school. So if they ask can we listen to music just say "sure as long as it is appropriate"
ReplyDelete2.Also if you make sure that the kids are doing well and make sure if they need help help them otherwise they will just stay still, but then again the kids will probably pretend that they are doing well when actually they don't know what to do.
3.If the kids need to finish unfinished work don't put any more work on them or they will rush and not to well.
(1. would be A+ 2. would be B+ and 3. would be B- if you do all three it would be A+++) Until next time!

ReplyDeleteI think that students should be able to grade their teachers because they need to know what they can improve on and what they are good on. Teachers should be graded on strategies that they are teaching us. When they are teaching us these strategies, they need to be 100% sure that they are teaching us the right thing.
