Gumboot Friday - Words of kindness for our community.

Today, Friday 5th April is NZ's inaugural Gumboot day. Mike King, NZer, of the year is hoping to raise $2 million dollars for mental health.
In Te Waka Ako, some students identified Mental Health as an issue that they felt needed to be addressed more effectively. One student thought one way we could spread happiness and kindness to people in our community, was leaving notes of inspiration and kindness in peoples letterboxes.
So, that's what we are going to do!
Look out for a random note of kindness coming to a letterbox near you!

  1. Hi Mrs Jones, it's Abigail from Hauraki. I found the blog intriguing because of the neatly- shot photos and the different ways you said your sentences. This reminded me of when we posted the notes. It was super fun! Perhaps, next time you could add another paragraph.

  7. Your messages of kindness were exceptional Te Waka Ako - you are lucky to have students in your team who have some awesome ideas, and lucky to have fabulous teachers who make events like this happen. Thank you for the efforts you have put into ensuring other people in our community feel safe and well. I have been so impressed that I will create a display of your messages in the corridor outside of my office, so that eveyone who walks through our school, will see your ideas.
